BlackBerry Z10 gets first software update, brings along five major improvements

BlackBerry Z10, which was launched in India earlier this week on Monday has now started to receive it’s first major OTA update, which brings-along five key improvements to the smartphone. The new version (10.0.10.85) is said to have been built by taking into account the feedback which BlackBerry got from it’s users. According to BlackBerry, the new software update would enhance the overall performance of BlackBerry Z10, improve some media features, etc.

- Better Battery Life: BlackBerry says that the update includes 60 battery saving optimizations for the smartphone, which would help it last the entire day easily on a single charge.
- Camera: The second major improvement in this update comes in the form of some camera optimizations, which should provide better shots n low-light.
- 3rd Party Apps: The update addresses the most important concern as far as BB 10 is concerned and that is, apps. With this update, the user experience while using 3rd party apps should be much faster and smoother.
- Gmail Calendars: BlackBerry Z10 users now shouldn’t face any problems as far as Gmail Calenders on the smartphone is concerned. Also, the update makes it easier for users to add contact from online sources and improves call logging in the Hub.
- Browser and Media: BlackBerry claims better video playback in the web browser with this update.
Since BlackBerry has just started to roll out the update, it might not be available to everyone yet, but if you’ve got a BlackBerry Z10 for yourself, keep checking your phone and you never know when you might get lucky!
