Apple TV comes to India

Apple TV comes to India for Rs.8,295



Apple has finally launched it’s media-streaming device, the Apple TV in India at a price of Rs.7,900. Apple TV was released in the United States nearly an year ago and the company has now listed the device on it’s India website as well.

For those of you who might still be unaware about the device, Apple TV is a media-streaming device which enables the users to stream and share content from various services like YouTube, Netflix, etc. or from other Apple devices to your HDTV. Apple TV can be connected to a HDTV via an HDMI cable, and then can share the content from other Apple devices via either a wired or a wireless connection.

Other than the ability to view content from Apple devices, Apple TV also allows the users to purchase or rent content from the iTunes store, which can then be viewed on the HDTV. It is also being said that Apple is in talks with Indian content providers to stream content using Apple TV.

Another important feature of the Apple TV is the support for AirPlay, which enables the users to stream content from an iOS device or iTunes to the Apple TV, via Wi-Fi. Users can also use AirPlay to wirelessly mirror the display of any iOS device or Mac.

Apple TV supports a resolution of up to 1080 pixels and is powered by an Apple A5 chip paired with 512MB of RAM. Along with support for Wi-Fi connectivity, the Apple TV also boasts of an HDMI port, a micro-USB port, Ethernet port and a built-in IR receiver. The device also features 8GB of NAND Flash memory for caching content.
