Google issues major update for Android version of Google Drive
Android users will be thrilled to know that Google has issued updates to a variety of its top tier apps. These updates come to Google apps such as Drive, Music and Wallet. According to a report by iTechpost, the author Prarthito Maity states that along with these updates, Google has planned a massive update for its Android-based apps.
Commenting on the updates the author states, “Android users are now getting update requests for a trio of Google apps, with the company releasing some general, minor tweaks for Google Wallet and Music, alongside a feature-rich update for Google Drive.”

Comes with a plethora of new features
The updates are available via the Google Play store. In Google Drive, Android users will receive some file management tools as well as the ability to arrange folders according to the type of files they hold. Users of Google Drive for Android will be able to automatically sync pinned content while on 3G. Other features include a richer experience while viewing Google Presentations, basic table support, create, reply and resolve comments, view and change fonts in Documents Editor, pinch-to-zoom in the Documents Editor, print files using Google Cloud Print, and the option to resume interrupted uploads and updates to gesture detection.
As per the report by iTechpost, the author states, “Google Music and Wallet also received a few minor updates and tweaks for a better overall experience. Music was updated previously when v4.3.609 was released with bug fixes and support for Google TV devices and expandable notifications in Jellybean. The new update, v4.3.615, now provides additional minor fixes. However, it doesn't seem like Google has updated the Wallet changelog at all. The description states that the app now has access to cloud and that the Wallet supports any credit or debit card: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.”
Earlier this year, Google has just officially pulled the wraps off Google Drive, its own take on cloud storage solution. Google Drive is available to anyone with a Google account and to start off with, you get 5GB of storage free of cost. Google Docs has also been integrated into Google Drive allowing you to share, edit and access all your Office documents and PDFs in real time. The main purpose of Google drive however, just like Dropbox, Box.net, SugarSync, etc. is that it gives you a one stop shop for all your personal files, be it photos, video, music or just about anything else.
Last month, Google issued an update for iOS devices as well and according to a post on its official blog, the search giant stated, “if you’re using the Drive app on your iOS device you can also edit Google documents, just as you can with the Android app. From your iPhone or iPad, you can create a new document, edit an existing one or format text. And, just like on your computer, you’ll be able to see other people’s edits instantly as they’re made. You’ll also notice other new improvements to the iOS Drive app. For example, you can now view Google presentations on your iPhone or iPad, including speaker notes, full-screen mode and the ability to swipe between slides. You can also create new folders, move files into folders and upload stuff (like photos and videos) from your device directly in the Drive app.”
