Refreshed Nexus 4 with 32GB storage and LTE to be unveiled at Google I/O?
This one is a good news as well as bad news, depending on who is reading it. Those looking to get their hands on a Nexus 4 would do well to wait a bit longer as Google will reportedly announce a refresh for the Nexus 4 in May.
Of course, this development won’t sit well with folks who have just managed to snag the latest Nexus smartphone after the much-publicised delays in production.
According to Sidhtech, Google will announce an updated version of the Nexus 4 with 32GB storage and LTE support. When the Nexus 4 launched, many criticised the lack of expandable or substantial storage and the missing LTE connectivity. However, it looks like Google is about to set both things right.
Of course, this development won’t sit well with folks who have just managed to snag the latest Nexus smartphone after the much-publicised delays in production.

A new Nexus 4?
The LTE and 32GB version of Nexus 4 will supposedly be unveiled at Google I/O. Google used the event to announce the Nexus 7 last year, and this year too the company is expected to take stage with at least one device.
The report further says the 32GB Nexus 4 will get CDMA support, along with LTE, which would make it play nicely with US carriers Sprint and Verizon’s networks. Besides these hardware changes, Google could also update the OS version of the Nexus 4 to Android 5.0 from 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
While an updated Nexus 4 would no doubt get its fair share of attention, fans are more eagerly awaiting the next-gen smartphone, Nexus 5. Reports have said that Google will once again go with LG for the manufacturing of Nexus 5.
Google I/O is expected to be chock-full of announcements for Google’s Android platform as well as for the Chrome OS. Besides the rumoured Nexus 4 refresh, the company will most likely announce the next version of Android, widely expected to be called Key Lime Pie. Another much-talked about Google app, Babel could also make an appearance at the May event.
On the hardware front, reports over the past few months have talked about a revamped Nexus 7 tablet as well. Besides a change in the SoC, from a Tegra 3 to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon, the new Nexus 7 will also have a higher-resolution display than its predecessor. The display is rumoured to be of a full HD resolution or higher.
Then there is the much-talked about Motorola X Phone. Majority of the reports so far have pointed at a Google I/O launch for the phone, which has become a hot property among smartphone speculators despite there being no concrete information on its specs or design. We’ll just have to wait till Google I/O to find out.
