Sony has launched a host of innovative products ahead of the Indian festive season, among them an 84-inch 4K television, a personal 3D viewer and a full-frame camera.

The Bravia KD-84X9000 comes with 4K resolution which is four times that of the present Full HD TVs. But since there is still hardly any 4K content available, Sony's 4K X-Reality PRO engine will upscale HD content to play on this giant screen. The TV also has a 10-unit live speaker system to deliver three-dimensional sound. The TV is priced at Rs 16,99,900 and will be available by the end of November. Toshiba has already launched a 4K television in the market. Its RZ1 is the world's first large-screen glass-free 3D model with 4K2K resolution and is available for Rs 12,00,000.

All the eyeballs at the Sony launch was, however, captured by the HMZ-T2, a personal 3D viewer which can be worn like a goggle. The wearable TV promises high-definition 2D and 3D visual with virtual 5.1 surround sound. Sony claims the device offers the best 3D experience in the planet. The HMZ-T2 is priced at Rs 69,990.

The Alpha 99, meanwhile, is Sony's flagship full-frame camera. The camera offers translucent mirror technology with a new 24.3 MP full-frame Exmor CMOS sensor. It features the world's first Dual AF system, vastly improving subject tracking performance, especially while shooting broadcast quality video. At around Rs 1,80,000, the Alpha 99 will be among the cheaper full-frame options available in the market along with the Nikon D600.

Sony also announced its range of laptops and ultrabooks with touchscreens to exploit the best of the Windows 8 operating system which will be launched later this month. The prices of VAIO E14P series laptops and T series ultrabooks have not been announced.
